Christmas at the Newport Mansions

Are you all in the holiday spirit yet? I am! Husband and I had quite the festive weekend... we spent Saturday  in Newport strolling through the famous mansions and swooning over the gorgeous Christmas decor. It was such fun to take a step back in time to the grandeur of the Gilded Age (and to imagine life as a Vanderbilt residing in these "summer cottages"! A girl can dream...) Photography was not allowed inside these lovely estates, but you can get an inside glimpse here

Festive attire was a must for me - here is what I wore to stay cozy while walking from mansion to mansion.

The one photo allowed inside... the poinsettia tree at the Elms made up of thousands of blooms. Gorgeous!

Our tour included:
the Elms,

Marble House,

breathtaking ocean views,

Rosecliff,

a stunning private estate we glimpsed on our walk,

lovely streets and stunning gates,

the grand entrance to the Breakers,

the grand estate behind those gates,

and beautifully lit chateaus!

It was oh-so romantic strolling on Husband's arm taking in the lovely scenery, and the Christmas carols and decor certainly tickled my holiday fancy! I cannot wait to share the decorations adorning the Champagne Chateau with you all soon...

Happy holidays! XOXO
