Pink Champagne Cake Pops

Do these have my name all over them, or what? Pink. Champagne. Cake. Pops.

When bloggie bestie Trish sent me the link to these delectable treats, I knew immediately that I would simply have to try them, and that I would have to share them with all of you!

Gorgeous, oh-so mouthwatering, and topped with glitter, too! The PERFECT excuse to throw a little soiree in my book. You can find the recipe here at Sweetapolita (don't you just adore that name?). Bon apetit!

Paris Fashion Week

Paris Fashion Week begins today! Just another excuse for this lady to daydream about Paris...and Chanel...and Dior...

Here is the schedule if you want to catch some of the shows!

Of course, I will be swooning from my laptop screen again. The French fashion awaits! Oui, oui!

Lusting Over

While I am busy NOT shopping, these lovelies are sitting in my inbox taunting me...

Gorgeous hues! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that everything isn't sold out by Easter... XOXO

I Shop, Therefore I Am

My name is Pink Champagne, and I'm a shopaholic.

Yes, ladies, it's true: I have given up shopping for Lent. Cold turkey.

It has been a day and a half, and I am on the verge of breaking already... it's going to be a loooong 40 days!

A few of my favorite quotes from my shopping soul sister, Rebecca Bloomwood:

Well, these cashmere gloves I need...as it is winter, and I have... hands!

So that's all. I'll buy these and these alone. My gosh, Missoni! Now walk away, strong and frugal. Oh, my God! Pucci boots. Fifty percent off? Do I need these? Do I need these? Do I NEED these?

When I shop the world gets better, the world is better; and then it's not anymore and I have to do it again.

A store can awaken a lust for things you never knew you needed.

You know that thing when you see someone cute and he smiles and your heart kind of goes like warm butter sliding down hot toast? Well that's what it's like when I see a store. Only it's better.

Uh, I mean, I like shopping. Is there anything so wrong with that? I mean, stores are put there to enjoy. Uh, the experience is enjoyable. Well, more than enjoyable. It's... It's beautiful. The sheen of silk, draped across a mannequin. Oh, the smell of new Italian leather shoes. Oh... The rush you feel when you swipe your card. And it's approved. And it all belongs to you!

This is my bridesmaid's dress. Please! How many of us have used that one before, hmm?

You sold all of your clothes and kept THAT?

It's a desperately important scarf.

Oh, why oh why didn't I just give up chocolate? Le sigh. Wish me luck, ladies... it's not going to be an easy road!

The Vow

Tonight, I have a mother/daughter date of dinner and a movie. I have been dying to see "The Vow" since the first time I laid eyes on the trailer, and I am so excited to finally see the full movie.

Already crying. We'll see if I can hold it together tonight in the theater. Teehee. Have any of you seen it? What did you think?

Sending happy Mardi Gras wishes to my bloggie besties in NOLA! Husband has already informed me that he got a mask and beads for me at his office. XX

Fashion Week Favorites

Fashion Week may be over, but the fun doesn't have to be! Let's reminisce over some of my MBFW favorites.

Milly: This is the runway show that I was awaiting all week, and it most certainly did not disappoint. May I add one of each to my closet, pretty please?

Nanette Lepore: Filled with lots of vibrant colors and pretty patterns.
Tory Burch: the dainty details and classic collars left me swooning!
Oscar de la Renta: oh, Oscar can do no wrong!
J.Crew: oh-so wearable, a few of these pieces may make their way into my fall wardrobe.

Front Row Girls

The 101 on Front Row Girls according to my favorite book, Bergdorf Blondes:

1. Spiritual home: New York fashion shows. Always in front rows as in Oscar, Michael, Carolina, and Bill (that's de la Renta, Kors, Herrera, and Blass).

2. Age: twenties, or very early thrities at absolute oldest. One well-known FRG has been twenty-three for over eight-and-a-half years now.

3. Breeding: grandfather started major merchant bank/cosmetics brand/aerospace empire. Slightly WASPy ancestry a plus. Dressing WASPy a minus.

4. Dress: sample size - i.e. 0, or 2 at largest. If you get onto the front row and you're not thin, you need a lot of personality to make up for it.

5. Vacation: grandmother's house in Palm Beach; best friend's private island; staying home in apartment (such a treat when you never do).

6. Classic fashion tip: honey-colored aligator stilettos. They disappear to the naked eye and elongate legs.

7. Shopping philosophy: always buy retail. FRGs never borrow.

8. Best friends: other Front Row Girls. FRG's don't converse with Second Row Girls - it's very bad for their necks to twist like that.

This girly book always makes me giggle! With Mercedes Benz Fashion Week coming to an end today, let's take a peek at the front row and backstage photos of the week's shows, shall we?

Of course, the designers themselves are spotted front row and backstage at the various shows:

Tory Burch

Whitney Port

Vera Wang

Marc Jacobs with Dakota Fanning

Rachel Roy with Joe Zee

Gossip Girl and fashion are synonymous, oui?

Leighton Meister

Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle

Models, socialites, and fashionistas:

Coco Rocha

Tinsley Mortimer

Olivia Palermo

Rachel Zoe

Dakota Fanning

And the queen of Vogue herself, Anna Wintour.

Anna's discerning eye taking in each collection...

Although not swooning from the front row in NYC, his lady has been taking in all the shows from the front row of my laptop screen. I'm sad to see Fashion Week come to an end, but I cannot wait to swoon over all of my favorites with you! XX
