7,000 Pairs of Shoes

Did any of you catch the Refinery29 article about the Albright Fashion Library and find yourself drooling over the photos like yours truly? Let's enter this fantasy world through the beautiful photos and some fabulous quotes from the collector herself, Irene Albright.

"As one of 10 stylists actively styling photo shoots in the late '70s, I found it impossible to not want to purchase the beautiful clothes after the shoot—I called it an investment. It served me well as most advertising campaigns consisted of similar requests. My home became a museum of the most divine objects of femininity."

"Ah, a classic glass table with two beauties: A Balmain red sequined wrap... The other dress is a white Givenchy—another favorite for its romantic, sexy vibe."

"Ode to Louboutin! I ambled through the streets of Paris alone and fell in Louboutin on Place de Victories."

"Kenneth Jay Lane, a fabulous fake! I stacked the jewels in plastic bins—there are gazillions of them to go through, but it's well worth it—a pirate's trove and I own it!"

"A little clutch bag can be diminutive yet sparkly and so refined. Just big enough for the sleekest of cell phones, and, of course, a red lipstick!"

"This is a photo of my miles of shoes in a Pantone-color system. I get crazy when its out of order."

"How can one resist Valentino? He was a man who always understood women."

"This front dress is a Lanvin favorite—black with rhinestones and cut to the body."

"Many dazzling rings. One of many trays sitting on a piece of velvet as a last touch when getting dressed."

What would YOU give to play dress-up in this fantasy closet??? A girl can dream...
