Revealed

Remember this post when I gushed about a mystery trip Husband was surprising me with for our one year anniversary? Based on the hints I had received, we all had our guesses about where we could be going... (myself included, but I refused to say it out loud so as not to jinx the romantic destination I was secretly hoping for). Well ladies, yesterday was our engagiversary and the night of the big reveal. Drumroll please...

We are jet-setting to Paris for our first wedding anniversary! Squeeeeee!!!

Husband and I made our first trip to Paris together in 2008, and I fell head over heels in love with absolutley everything about the city. The fashion, the architecture, the fine food and wine, the beauty, the romance in the air... le sigh.

When I arrived home from work last night, Husband was waiting for me with the candles lit, the dinner table set, and our wedding song playing. He spun me around the room before having me sit down and close my eyes...

When I opened them, a piece of paper was in front of me with a photo of our hotel and our flight itinerary (and a little love note from Husband written in French... I had to ask him to translate. tee hee). Isn't he tres romantic?

I am simply over the moon and cannot wait to stroll the romantic streets hand-in-hand with Husband...
Did I mention our room has a view of the Eiffel Tower? J'adore!
I have 16 days to brush up on my French, madamoiselles!
Oui, oui Audrey!

Remembering the Bumpkin

Many of you may also be remembering sweet Lisa today, fondly known to us in blogland as Bumpkin on a Swing. It was exactly a year ago to the day that Lisa's fight against cancer came to an end and she left this earth for heaven. I was blessed to have gotten to know Lisa, although briefly, and was instantly struck by her love of fashion (her shoegasm posts, anyone?!), her larger than life personality, her witty posts and comments, and her huge heart.

I want to celebrate Lisa today with some of my favorite photos from her tumblr page. Are you ready for the massive amounts of eye candy to come?

Her blogging bestie (and one of my own too!) Trish is hosting a link-up today in Lisa's memory - you are invited to link up and share memories of your own. Thinking of Lisa, her family, her friends, and sending lots of love and prayers...

Deborah (and Pink Champagne) LOVE:

When I see a "Deborah loves" email from Kate Spade in my inbox, my little heart starts to pitter-patter since I can almost guarantee I will fall in love too. Last week's email was no exception, and I was just giddy to learn more about Lillian Bassman in the interview and ooh and aah at the glamorous black and white photos!

Here is the photo selected for the Kate Spade capsule collection... isn't it to die?

One of my favorite quotes from the interview was when she described a photo she took in Paris:

"when i first arrived in paris [with barbara mullen], either she or i had a room with a balcony, and mrs. snow [harper’s bazaar editor-in-chief at the time] had sent a chiffon dress from… one of the runway shows, and it was on a rooftop—a very simple background—but there was something magical about the way she framed herself in the doorway.

i don’t know if it was the dress or barbara or the hour—it’s remained with me all these years. i can see her there, the wind blowing, her gesture, her excitement at being in paris. the whole nostalgia of the rooftops in paris was there at that moment."

Are you in love too? You can read the entire interview here and shop the KS collection here.

Have a marvelous Monday, my dears!
