Cute Questionnaire

The wedding was lovely, the bride was absolutely breathtaking, and we had a fantastic time! I'm back from my best friend and MOH's wedding, and I was greeted with a terrific tag from my blogging bff Trish over at Pink Preppy Lilly Lover. Visit Trish if you are not already acquainted - she is an absolute doll and just the sweetest! Thanks for the fun tag, lovely! I've missed you all dearly and can't wait to dive right in!

favorite color?
PINK. Have we met???

favorite restaurant?
This is a tricky one, because Fiancé and I sure do love fine dining! One of our favorite spots is the Chatham Bars Inn on Cape Cod... breathtaking ocean views, scrumptious seafood, to-die-for desserts, and we always spend hours with a bottle of wine of champagne in front of the huge fire place. My stomach is growling now!

hobbies?
Boating. Being on the water with the sun beating down, the breeze blowing, and my love by my side is pure bliss.
Dancing. Alone in my underwear, with my best girlfriends all dolled up, with Fiancé in the living room, or reliving my 11 years of dance classes... any kind of dancing is fine by me!
Tennis. While I no longer play competitively, I still love to throw on a little white skirt and swing a racket.
Being sung to. What girl doesn't go gaga when she is serenaded?

what does your room look like?
My current room is the ultimate girly escape, complete with satin bedding and French Vogue photos framed on the walls. For our newlywed master bedroom (currently in the works), we have gone with a very classic, traditional feel. Restoration Hardware monogrammed (our soon-to-be MARRIED monogram) white bedding with silver sage embroidery, pale blue walls, and a white brick chimney as a central landmark. I cannot wait to hang a gorgeous chandelier to complete the look. I believe EVERY room should have a chandelier. Tres elegant and romantic!

if you could have dinner with two people, dead or alive, who would they be?
Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe. Audrey was just the sweetest most elegant lady, and I'm sure Marilyn would have some juicy stories to tell!

what is your next big splurge?

With the wedding coming up, the honeymoon on its' heels, boating season upon us, and so many home projects in the works, saving is our goal. I already bought Fiancé's wedding present (TOP SECRET... you are going to LOVE it, darling!), but I will say that was it if I'm allowed to bend the rules and choose my last big splurge.

what is your favorite joke, quote or saying?
"For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone." -Audrey Hepburn
Proof of why I adore Audrey!

anything else you would like known? (a random fact)
Monday was exactly 2 months until my wedding day, and I can feel the excitement building more and more each day. I think I'm going to burst soon!

This was such fun! I tag these lovely ladies:
-brown eyed belle
-bumpkin on a swing
-the pink prep
-pink peonies and pearls
-lily lemontree
-nola girl

Enjoy! xoxo

PS - have you seen Sweet Southern Prep's Lilly giveaway? Too adorable for words - you MUST check it out!

Headline News

Who doesn't recognize the famous photo above? This iconic photo has become a symbol of the end of World War II, and I have always found it tres romantic. Here are a few things I didn't know about this photo:
-The nurse in the liplock with the sailor is Edith Shain, who died today at the age of 91.
-I always assumed the two were reunited lovers, but they did not know each other at all! The photographer wrote: "I was walking through the crowds on V-J Day, looking for pictures. I noticed a sailor coming my way. He was grabbing every female he could find and kissing them all — young girls and old ladies alike. Then I noticed the nurse, standing in that enormous crowd. I focused on her, and just as I'd hoped, the sailor came along, grabbed the nurse, and bent down to kiss her." My, my!
In other headline news, we have a royal wedding in the works! Prince Albert of Monaco is engaged to Charlene Wittstock of South Africa. Anything that involves weddings and royalty makes this girl's heart go pitter patter! You can bet your Louis and your Loubs that I will be on the lookout for matrimonial photos after this wedding takes place...
And what timing as I just finished reading "A Touch of Grace: How to be a Princess the Grace Kelly Way". Another interesting fact I picked up in the book: Grace Kelly was 5 feet, 6 1/2 inches - my exact height! Coincidence? I think not... Oh Grace, how I adore you!
*A warm welcome and air kisses to all the new readers and followers - I'm so excited to have reached 100!*

Summer Bag Perfection

All of last summer, I was in search of the perfect straw summer bag. Where was this bag last year when I needed it??? The white trim, the flower applique, the frayed edge...this screams beach chic!  I'll take the sandals too along with oversized sunglasses and a floppy straw hat, thankyouverymuch. Le sigh.

National Wear Your Lilly Day

Three cheers that Summer is officially here! Hip hip, hooray! Hip hip, hooray! Hip hip, hooray! I'm celebrating wearing this Lilly top, white pants, my Lilly twisted bangles in pink, green, white, and gold, and the gold earrings I won from Sweet Southern Prep's giveaway. What are you wearing today? XO

Ode to the Father of the Bride

Cheers to my Daddy, as I'll always be Daddy's Little Girl. To my tennis partner, Mr. Fix-It, jokester, car repair man, house project helper, moving man, boat engine consultant, and "face game" opponent. The man I would run to every night at 5:15 when he would walk in the door and jump into his arms, who would flip me upside down, carry me on his shoulders, and be my human jungle gym. Who I would call on the phone and ask to come upstairs and play with me, who would read the "Large and Growly Bear" to me in the perfect bear voice, would take me on "toe rides" in the swimming pool, and who would sing "My Girl" to me. To the man who will walk me down the aisle, give me away, and spin me around the dance floor in just 68 days... Cheers to my Daddy, the Father of the Bride - I love you!

Photo Friday

Fiancé and I have a huge wedding weekend coming up, and I am positively tickled pink! Today is the day of my first DRESS FITTING... I am counting down the hours until I get to slip into my dream dress and see myself in the mirror... le sigh. Tomorrow, we are meeting with the priest to finalize all ceremony details and then I am headed to the salon spa with my mother and future mother-in-law for trial hair and make up appointments. Such FUN. Sunday is another meeting with the wedding coordinator (hopefully taking our boat to the meeting... fingers and toes all crossed). This bride is on cloud nine this weekend! Could Photo Friday really be anything OTHER than a wedding photo today???

Pink & Green Peonies

Happy Pink & Green Thursday, lovelies! Peonies are a favorite flower of mine, and if I were having a spring wedding they most certainly would have been my wedding flower of choice. In celebration of pink and green and these beautiful blooms, take a deep breath and take in their beauty. Can you smell the lovely aroma through your screen? Almost??? Use your imagination!

Wishing you all love, happiness, and lots of pink and green!
