Oh Happy Day

The lovely Trish at Preppy Pink Lilly Lover has given me the Happy 101 Award, and I couldn't be more honored! Thank you so much dear - reading your blog makes me happy!

Here are the top 10 things that make me happy:

1. Spending time with Fiancé. Whether he is by my side on the boat, singing to me and playing the guitar in our favorite spot, holding my hand as we walk into town by the water, or sharing a bottle of wine with me over dinner, this beau always puts a smile on my face.

2. The WEDDING! I have always loved everything to do with weddings, and now that I am planning my own, my love of all things bridal has quadrupled. The dress, the shoes, the cake, the flowers, the aisle, the dancing, the dining, the champagne, the family and friends, the rings - I get giddy with glee each time one of these things crosses my mind!

3. Lilly Pulitzer! The colors, the prints, the pretty styles... how can a girl not be happy when wearing Lilly?

4. Summer days and nights on the boat. Cruising across the ocean, feeling the breeze in my hair and the sun on my face, flipping off the bow and swimming, island hopping... relaxing days spent on the water are simply divine.

5. Dining alfresco. Warm summer nights spent sipping champagne on a patio and eating dinner with a view - cannot be beat.

6. Spending time with family. I have always loved family get-togethers, parties, and holidays spent with loved-ones. (This little girl does not share my love for family dinners, but she was too cute not to post!) 

7. Shopping. Whether window shopping (pure eye candy) or landing the perfect fashion find (euphoric), this girl loves to shop til she drops.

8. Christmastime! I love the carols, the decorations, white lights, Christmas trees, parties (and party dresses!), shopping, wrapping, Christmas strolls, snowfalls, fireplaces, hot chocolate, movies, and festivities of the entire season.  Andy Williams said it best: "It's the most wonderful time of the year!" 

9. My birthday - a day completely dedicated to celebrating me! Fiancé always makes it extra special, and I just adore celebrating with him.  Is this one completely and utterly self-absorbed?

10. Paris - j'adore! I love traveling of any kind, but Paris is simply my favorite city in the entire world. Champagne, crepes, croissants, Chanel, chandeliers, chateaus - all of my favorite "C's" in one magical city! Tres romantic. Sigh.

I have watched the trailer for the Sex and the City 2 movie about 78 times since Trish posted it on Friday. Is anyone else BEYOND EXCITED for May 27th? Squeal and happy dance!

Today is FINALS DAY in NCA college cheerleading nationals world. For one brief moment of the year, my inner cheerleader kicks in, I come out of retirement (in my mind at least - there is NO way my body can do that anymore!), and I thrive on the excitement of watching (from my computer now) the best college teams in the country compete. I can almost feel the adrenaline and atmosphere of finals as if I were there again... Oh how I miss the thrill of being on that mat and performing!

This was taken my senior year, not of our team, but of Hawaii Pacific... one of my favorites. Tiffany-blue uniforms and real Hawaiian leis? So adorable!

Hair Heaven

Today, I am walking a little lighter, Madonna is playing on my Pandora (I never get tired of Vogue!), and the sun seems to be shining a little bit brighter. Why the wonderful mood? Simple: I have a hair appointment tonight. There is something so luxurious and relaxing about getting my hair done, and I adore being pampered. The head and shoulder massage before the cut, the facial cream and aromatherapy spritz over my skin, the feeling of leaving just a little blonder with healthy freshly-cut ends... sigh. Even the tea seems to taste so much better at the salonspa. Pure bliss. Is it 6:30 yet? 

The Perfect Pump!

Does anyone remember that American Express commercial where Jerry Seinfeld is pumping gas? I regress...
I have been searching for the perfect black patent leather pump ever since my go-to pair of black heels bit the dust. My requirements: round toe, not-too-high heel, quality and durability, and classic look. They must be able to seemlessly make the transition from daytime office-appropriate to nighttime chic. I FINALLY pumped my fist Jerry-style in triumph when I met the Calvin Klein Olive pump you see below. They are making their debut to the world today on my feet, and my toes are tickled they are so excited. Sweet, sweet success in the form of fashionable footwear...

Feeling Blue

Reasons to Smile

-The sun is shining bright, and it's a beautiful Spring day.
-I had a lovely Easter weekend filled with family, friends, and fantastic food. (Too many F's? I think yes!)
-I am wearing a Lilly wrap dress, and my shoes have big bows on the toes!
-I'm lucky in love.
