"Fluent in French, intermittently. I'm really good at words like moi and très, which seem to take care of just about everything a girl needs. A few unkind people have pointed out that this does not make me exactly fluent, but I say, well, that's lucky because if I spoke perfect fluent French no one would like me, and no one likes a perfect girl, do they?"
This excerpt from Bergdorf Blondes describes my French speaking skills to a tee... I have never taken a French class, but I think it is just the most romantic language and I dream of living in Paris one day... In the hopes of improving my French beyond oui, très, j'adore, and merci, I downloaded the Speak French Free app on my new phone... let the lessons begin, mes cheres!
I LOVE the Bergdorf Blondes - that book is hysterical!!

That is my favorite book! I read it every summer :0)
ReplyDeleteJe t'aime is also a good one--it means I love you!
ReplyDeleteI took French forever and I could write and read very well, but was always HORRIBLE at speaking! My accent was hilarious!
I loved that book! I bought the Rosetta Stone French guide last year to prepare for our trip to Paris, and every once and a while I run through the lessons. But I still can't get too far beyond poisson.
ReplyDeleteno one likes a perfect girl... but what a neat idea!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I completely agree! I MUST download this app. I've been begging the hubby (who can speak great French) for the Rosetta Stone French set so that I can master that beautiful language!
ReplyDeleteLOL< I need that app! I took French for 2 yrs in High School.
ReplyDeleteAll I can remember is a few words and the French National Anthem:)
