North v. South: Pastels vs. Neons

Week 3 is here, and it may be my favorite week of our North v. South collaboration so far! Do you love how we all coordinate perfectly? Totally not planned, cross my heart. 

The theme this week is pastels versus neons, so I decided to don both. This dress with its pastel peach ground and neon pink and lime accents was the parfait mix. 

Husband and I were on Hilton Head Island for the weekend, so this week's photo shoot was held on Southern soil. (I'm still a Northern girl in this feature!) 

The weather was gorgeous, and we enjoyed the final rays before the sun set over the ocean. 

I thought these neon heels and this cheery dress were a match made in heaven...do you agree?

Happy weekend! 

Love for Boston

A day has passed, and I am still in shock over yesterday's tragic events at the Boston Marathon. I am shaken to the core, and my heart is breaking for the victims and their families. I am thankful to say that our friends in the city are safe, but this has hit too close to home. My college roommate and her husband were standing at the finish line and literally ran for their lives. Countless other friends were either running in the race, cheering from the sidelines, or in the neighborhood at the time of the explosion. I cannot imagine what they felt. 

In the face of tragedy, we see that love always wins over hate. A list of people offering guestrooms, rides, or even a sofa to sleep on for victims instantly grew to thousands long. Runners who had crossed the finish line earlier continued to run to hospitals to donate blood. Those nearby instantly sprung into action to assist the wounded. The first responders are true heroes.

At this time, all we can do is pray for God to comfort those affected. We can have faith that love will triumph. Sending all my love and prayers to Boston. 

North v. South: Floral Pants

Week 2 is here, and we're back for more! This week, Spring is in bloom (on our bottoms!). Floral pants are the featured trend, and for me this means Lilly.

A neon pink and green print makes these pants one of my favorite Spring pairs.

Paired with a silk blouse, peep toe heels, and sparkling jewels, these pants are ready for a dinner date. 

I adore the nautical motif mixed with glitzy gems on this duo. 

What a gorgeous day to spend on the wharf! 

I love to dress them up or dress them down, so I decided to show the pants worn two ways...which do you prefer?

Channeling my inner model working the wind. 

Boat shoes are so much more fun when covered in sequins, I always say.

Five Things

I have loved reading everyone's Five Things posts that have been all over the blogosphere, and I'm hopping on board! Without further ado:

1. I talk to my mother everyday. I know that I can talk to her about anything, and she is always there for support and to cheer me on. Not to mention, she is a fabulous shopping buddy.

2. I agonize over Instagram. I have become obsessed with selecting the perfect filter, effects, and angle...even deciding whether a photo is worthy of being posted.

3. Husband and I are jetting to Greece in just one month. While Paris will always be my favorite spot in the world, I am beyond excited to island hop, dine overlooking the aqua ocean, and wear brightly colored maxis. Vacation is all about the ensemble, no?

4. Husband keeps a quote list of "Meesh-isms" (my nickname lovingly given to me by the mister). Every now and then, certain things come out of my mouth that are so brilliant (or silly) I shock even myself. The running list is growing daily.

5. Life is best celebrated with a glass of bubbly. But you already knew that was my mantra, oui?

A Colorful Life

Lilly Pulitzer (1931-2013) showed us how to live a colorful life and brought sunshine and happiness to the world through her vibrant prints and resort lifestyle. My style icon, she is an inspiration to me both in fashion and in my professional life. If she can build an empire of pink and green from a juice stand, imagine what is possible!
