Pink & Green Weddings!

8 DAYS to I do, ladies! I cannot stand the excitement. It is bubbling up inside of me, and all I can think about are dresses, flowers, placecards, aisles, and first dances... my head is in the clouds. And the forecast finally extends to wedding day, so I can begin obsessively checking the weather multiple times a day now. Hehe. As of now, wedding day is sunny and 77 degrees! *Happy dance and fingers crossed!* I just CANNOT WAIT to become a Mrs.!

Frantic Friday

No time to distract you with a pretty photo this Friday... this bride-to-be is busy as a bee! Here is the latest in the world of Pink Champagne:
-I am moving out of my apartment TODAY. I have started moving most things, but everything must come with me today and large furniture is being moved tomorrow. (The new girl is moving in on Sunday, so no breathing room on this deadline.) Goodbye, single girl apartment; helloooooo newlywed home! Pack, pack, pack!
-We have our final pre-wedding meetings on Saturday with: the wedding coordinator, priest, florist, and vocalist and organist. It will be a super-packed day... perhaps we can squeeze in a quick celebratory glass of champagne somewhere? 14 MORE DAYS!!! *Squeal*
-The cabinets, island, and countertops have been installed in our new kitchen... onto appliances, paint, and a backsplash. Pictures to come when we get around to this - pinky promise.
-Organize everything that has been moved into our newlywed love nest... this includes my closet which I am trés excited about. Pictures to come of this too!

Weekend in Pictures

Good morning, sunshines! Just wanted to quickly stop in to share those pictures from the weekend, as promised. My camera battery sadly died on Saturday, so there are fewer than I would have wished, but here they are! Wishing I were back there again instead of working on a Wednesday...

Stop 1: Quicks Hole for a cheese and cracker picnic en route to Martha's Vineyard. Here is our Finch Hatton from our view on the beach!  

We made it to the Vineyard! The darling ginger bread houses I told you about in Oak Bluffs... this one was pink and green so I HAD to snap a picture for you ladies!

The view from our park bench in the square... water fountains, gazebo, ginger bread houses, and a view of the ocean (to the left... use your imagination!).

Edgartown Harbor. Edgartown is my absolute favorite town on the Vineyard... the gorgeous homes, old architecture, quaint streets, and amazing shops are to die.

Ernie Boch, Jr.'s Edgartown estate... are you in L-O-V-E?

Other stops that my camera didn't capture included: Menemsha, Vineyard Haven, Chappaquiddick, and Nantucket... a summer New England paradise. What a fabulous weekend with fabulous friends!

Blessings for our Bumpkin

Tears are filling my eyes as I write this now and as I read so many posts bearing terribly sad news. Lisa of Bumpkin on a Swing has lost her sudden battle with ovarian cancer. If you were lucky enough to have known Lisa from blogland or even more blessed to have been a dear friend beyond the cyber realm, you were sure to have been touched her by awestriking photos, sense of humor, passion, hilarious comments, big heart, and sweet personality. Her comments never failed to put a big smile on my face and usually would make me giggle out loud. Our darling Bumpkin, you will be missed dearly.

Sending lots of love and prayers to her beloved Captain John and precious friends. We know Lisa is swinging and smiling down on us from heaven.

Engageiversary!

Exactly one year ago yesterday, August 8th, 2009, a sparkly diamond slid onto my finger as Fiancé got down on one knee. We were on the boat, he asked a question, and I said YES! There was champagne, dancing, crying, squealing (moi), and lots of celebrating. Wedding magazines were immediately bought, a knot account was created (this may or may not have been before this day), parties were thrown, and the planning of our dream wedding began. I have loved every moment of being affianced, and I cannot believe that in just 19 short days we will be MARRIED!

Fittingly, we spent the weekend celebrating the anniversary of this magical day on the boat on the Vineyard and Nantucket. It was a lovely New England summer day, and love is still in the air. (Pictures to come soon - pinky promise.)

Wedding Dress News

In lieu of Photo Friday, I have big news in wedding dress world: my final fitting was last night and my gown fits per-fectly! I absolultely adore it... and the next time I slip into it, it will be my WEDDING DAY!!!
