I Heart Tucket

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a lovely Memorial Day weekend! I'm still reeling from our fabulous time on Nantucket (and possibly still rocking a little bit from spending 4 days on a boat). Friday night, we headed across the bay to Hyannis for pre-race festivities. We enjoyed some clam chowder and wine on the boat before heading into town to meet with friends. Saturday morning means Figawi race time for all the sailors, so we followed the boats to the starting line to watch the excitement begin. The fleet of sailboats (and ferry trying to squeeze through) was quite a sight to see!
Sailboats everywhere you looked.
After our friends all finished the race, we relaxed on the boats and enjoyed some sunshine and wine, then a lovely dinner on the boat.
Sunday began with mimosas (champagne makes me one happy girl), followed by a lovely cruise around the harbor. Swimming and cooking out on the boat is the perfect way to celebrate the start of summer, oui?
Here is the boat we spent the weekend on coming in to pick up our crew.
Sunday afternoon, Fiancé and I strolled the streets, making stops in the antique shops, home decor stores, and of course Lilly Pulitzer! Guess what happened to be parked in front of the In the Pink store?
After a squeal, a full photo shoot ensued posing in front of the Jeep, next to it, you get the idea...
I had plenty of Lilly packed to wear,
but I also had loads of fun trying on some new Lilly in search of the perfect rehearsal dinner dress.
There is nothing better than walking down a cobblestone street holding the hand of your husband-to-be...
and taking in the beauty and quaint historical architecture around you.
Our next stop was the race tent party, where we danced our little tushies off as the band played. Clam chowder was the perfect late dinner, and Fiancé and I made one last stop to hear our favorite band play on the island before heading back to the boat for bedtime. Memorial Day was spent at sea... time to head back home across the bay, bidding farewell to my favorite island. The weekend flew by, and we can't wait for our next trip already... Oh Nantucket, how I had missed you!
So whether you prefer the speed of a power boat,
or flying your flags proudly on a sailboat,
or just want to spend a weekend in a preppy shopper's paradise, come join me next time on Nantucket. We will have an absolute blast, darlings - pinky promise!

Photo Friday: ACK

Happy Friday, lovelies! Today is a happy Friday indeed - it is Memorial Day weekend, and I am leaving work at 1 to head to Nantucket for the weekend with Fiancé and friends on the boat. Nantucket is one of my absolute favorite summer destinations, and if you have been you know exactly why. The beautiful homes, the darling cobblestone streets, the fabulous shopping, the fine dining, and boats galore. A summer paradise! Memorial Day weekend on Nantucket means Figawi Race Weekend, complete with the regatta, tent parties, and lots of fun festivities. It is also the perfect opportunity to don your favorite Lilly and Vineyard Vines (I have been planning outfits all week - our little secret). Crossing my fingers and toes for lovely weather to match our lovely destination...
Happy Memorial Day Weekend, darlings! Welcome Summer - I've been waiting for you!

Pink & Green Thursday: SATC2

It's today, it's today! I feel like a little girl waking up on Christmas morning... the long awaited Sex and the City 2 comes out today! I won't be able to go see the movie until Tuesday night (tragic), so I will be avoiding all spoilers until Memorial Day weekend is over and I can finally see what happens to these lovely ladies for myself.  In honor of this mementous occasion, let's take a journey down memory lane of some pink and green moments of my favorite of the four: Charlotte.
So classic AND a ruffle. Channeling Elle's pink suit in Legally Blonde 2?

Charlotte sporting Lilly, the early years before we met her. I want that skirt!
This dress gives me goosebumps!
A pink and green pair! Remember this old episode?
Another from the archives... if only this coat were hanging in my closet...
Pink and tweed... you can never go wrong.
Inspired by Elizabeth Taylor. Possibly my favorite Charlotte look EVER.
Just a pinch of pink.
Lounging in Mexico in the first movie. Love that nautical lace-up.
Multi-tasking Momma!
A long pink maxi looks marvelous in Abu Dhabi.
Charlotte and Carrie in shades of pink, Miranda in green, Samantha in every color but!
Shades of pink and green go glam for the premiere. *Swoon*

Pie for Fiancé

Fiancé adores his key lime pie (and I adore the pretty green color). Everywhere we go for dinner, he asks if they have it on the menu come time for dessert, and we will drive an hour to one of our favorite spots that serves the peeerfect slice. Last night as we were finalizing our registry, we added a pie pan and server to our list... so I can make key lime pie for us, of course. I can't wait to try the recipe below and see how I do...

Ingredients:
9" graham cracker pie crust (Thank goodness we will have the proper pan now!)

14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk
3 egg yolks (whites not used)
½ cup Nellie & Joe's Key West Lime Juice

Combine milk, egg yolks and lime juice. Blend until smooth. Pour filling into pie crust and bake at 350º for 15 minutes. Allow to stand 10 minutes before refrigerating. Just before serving, top with freshly whipped cream, or meringue, and garnish with lime slices.

Sounds pretty simple, right? For Fiancé's sake and in the name of endless years of marital bliss, let's hope I can master this one...

Pink & Green: MY WEDDING!

Today is officially 100 DAYS to my wedding! In honor of this big landmark (to me, at least), today's Pink & Green Thursday post will be dedicated to all the lovely pinks and greens associated with my big day.
The flowers will be pink and green hydrangeas. My bouquet will be all pink, while the girls will carry green. Centerpieces and flowers in the church will be a mixture of our favorite color combination.
The stems of the bouquets will all be wrapped in this gorgeous Thatcher's fine fabric from my Pink Box. There was just enough to have each girl have her own unique pink and green print! LOVE that Pink Box!
Here is the inspiration board that I made earlier in the planning process to wardrobe the wonderful wedding party. Bridesmaids in pink J Crew halter dresses with beautiful bows behind the neck, our charming flower girl in the Lilly Julia dress, ringbearers in navy blazers, khaki shorts, and pink and green Lilly bowties (they are the most adorable little boys EVER), and the men in green Brooks Brothers pants, navy J Crew blazers, and pink and green ties. The perfectly preppy party attire!
Drumroll please! Our save the dates (slightly edited) revealed! Our invitations have not been printed yet, but they will have the same nautical flag monogram in pink and green and have pretty envelope liners. More on these lovelies to come...
Where our guests will be parking.
The bridal room at the harbor club... freshening up surrounded by pink and green!
Pink glass in the ballroom! MADE for me. :)

Our venue does not allow sparklers, so our guests will send us off with pink and green glow sticks at the end of the night.

Happy 100 Days to I DO to the love of my life! Counting down the moments to becoming your wife...
Be sure to drool over all the other pink & green at Pink Preppy Lilly Lover! And join in the fun and play too! Join the blog hop by clicking here.
