Charleston Girl

Does anyone remember when I called on all my Southern ladies for advice on must-sees during our New Year's trip to Charleston? Your recommendations were fantastic, and now it's time to share photos from our trip down South. Husband and I just fell in love with the charming town, and this lady was seriously considering becoming a Southern belle!

I was ecstatic to see all the PINK in the lovely Southern historic architecture. May I move in, si vous plait?

Christmas decorations were still up... white lights make me giddy!

The cuisine was divine, and we enjoyed fine dining at Macintosh, Poogan's Porch, Virginia's on King, and Rue de Jean, and yummy cocktails at Husk's bar, the Pavillion rooftop bar, and the Speakeasy. Did I mention we found a macaroon boutique?!

Sailing on our friend's boat was lovely, and the views of Charleston and Fort Sumter from the water were magnificient!

Shopping on King Street was just as I imagined... it didn't take this lady long to find Lilly and Louis!

Rickshaw rides were our primary form of transportation - perfect to take in the scenery!

The Calhoun Mansion was one of my favorite spots... did y'all know that it was the home used in the Notebook? Photos were not allowed inside, but I took plenty outside... you can take a full tour on their site.

Finally, we had a fabulous time ringing in 2012 with lots of champagne kisses at the Grand Ball held at the aquarium. Happy New Year from Madame and Monsieur Champagne!

Do you remember this invitation that I shared with you a few weeks ago? Husband and I have been busy floating from one party to the next, and this past Saturday was the long-awaited day of our soiree - such fun! We had about 50 guests, went through many bottles of bubbly, and our home was just bursting with Christmas cheer and love!

Here is a photo I snapped as Husband and I anxiously awaited the arrival of our guests... red tights and red Christmas tree embroidered pants were a must!

3 more days until Christmas - I am just bursting with excitement!

NYC is so festive and beautiful when it is aglow at Christmastime - I'm so happy to share photos with you today from Husband's and my long weekend in the big city.

As you know, we stopped into Bendel's for a few baubles for me - I adore those brown and white boxes!

The Tiffany's carousel window displays were absolutely stunning, and the surprises inside the windows were magical.

We stopped into Louis Vuitton to give Louis a little Christmas treat - a new monogram!

We popped into the Plaza for some champagne cocktails and hors d'oeuvres... the pink tree made me positively giddy!

The tree at Rockefeller Center was a must, of course.

Dinner at the Carlyle was divine.

The window displays of Christian Louboutin and Oscar de la Renta were too precious not to snap a photo!

We had a Gossip Girl moment and brunched at the Palace Hotel.

... and found Chuck Bass's Hotel Empire.

I slipped into a few LBD's at Milly on Madison.

We reminisced about Paris at Ladurée.

And took a stroll near Wall Street to take in more landmarks.

We ended the weekend with an emotional visit to the 9/11 Memorial.

Bonjoir! Husband and I are back from our NYC extravaganza and I have so much to share with you! One of our first stops when we arrived in the city was the classic fashion landmark Henri Bendel. If you are not already familiar, please allow me to introduce you to the magical girly world of Bendel's.

Known for those brown and white stripes and the ultimate in accessories, Bendel's is mecca to the girly girl.

Isn't their holiday campaign just the cutest with all those kicking legs?

I adore the style of the Bendel's sketches, don't you?!

I picked up a few treats for myself - the classic hinged bangle and rivet studs... I have a feeling these will be my new day-to-day go-to pieces.

I'm thinking I may need this book too... love!

A Very Pink & Green Christmas!

Hi lovelies! I promised a tour of the Champagne Chateau decked out in its Christmas best, and here is your first peek! Here are some of the festive pinks and greens you will find around our house...

Yes, Husband agreed to a pink and green themed Christmas tree! Isn't he the BEST?! It is adorned in grosgrain ribbon, beads, glittery ornaments, and lots of sparkle and shine!

I just love the final product!

The other living room has more of a white theme on the mantle, but you may spy a few pink and green details that are here year-round. Did you spot the Lilly matches by the fireplace and the pink and green oar (our "guest book" that our guests all signed in green pen at our wedding!)?

Christmas at the Newport Mansions

Are you all in the holiday spirit yet? I am! Husband and I had quite the festive weekend... we spent Saturday in Newport strolling through the famous mansions and swooning over the gorgeous Christmas decor. It was such fun to take a step back in time to the grandeur of the Gilded Age (and to imagine life as a Vanderbilt residing in these "summer cottages"! A girl can dream...) Photography was not allowed inside these lovely estates, but you can get an inside glimpse here.

Festive attire was a must for me - here is what I wore to stay cozy while walking from mansion to mansion.

The one photo allowed inside... the poinsettia tree at the Elms made up of thousands of blooms. Gorgeous!

Our tour included:

the Elms,

Marble House,

breathtaking ocean views,

Rosecliff,

a stunning private estate we glimpsed on our walk,

lovely streets and stunning gates,

the grand entrance to the Breakers,

the grand estate behind those gates,

and beautifully lit chateaus!

It was oh-so romantic strolling on Husband's arm taking in the lovely scenery, and the Christmas carols and decor certainly tickled my holiday fancy! I cannot wait to share the decorations adorning the Champagne Chateau with you all soon...

I'm not one for the crowds and craziness (this lady prefers personalized attention and plenty of room to look, feel, and try on when I shop!), so I will not be waiting in line at the crack of dawn.

Fab Fabrics

How was everyone's weekend? Lovely? Husband and I spent Saturday afternoon swimming in fabrics at the interior design shop in town. Oh how I love this man for allowing me to indulge in my love of pink home decor. We are head over heels over the fabrics from Thibaut - when you look at these photos, I think you will fall in love too.

Such pretty prints and colors, oui? Stately and fun simultaneously. While I think the likelihood of convincing Husband to embrace a bright pink living room is very low, I'm envisioning a pretty pale pink fabric for curtains and accent pillows (Robin?) to complement our chocolate brown leather Chesterfield. Of course, I also fell in love with a few fun wallpapers to up the wow-factor of our foyer... one project at a time. Le sigh.

Louis Vuitton Déjà Vu

Do you remember this lovely Fall 2010 Louis Vuitton ad? I absolutely fell in love with the shoes in an array of gorgeous colors and luxurious materials. I tried a pair on in the LV boutique in Boston last year strictly for fun, and I nearly died and floated off to Vuitton heaven... le sigh.

Did you fall in love too?

Imagine my surprise when I was strolling the aisles of DSW last week when I spotted these: the Mojo Moxy Sophia Pump. While they lack the velvet, Swarovski crystals, ostrich & crocodile leather, and satin details of the LV pumps that made me swoon, they did give me a strong sense of déjà vu. The bow at the toe, thick squared heel, and pointed toe bear a striking resemblance at a fraction of the price (we're talking 99% savings, ladies).

Little Blue Taxi with a Big White Bow

Can't you just imagine strolling the streets of London in a ladylike dress and heels, hailing one of the lovely Tiffany taxis? When I saw these photos on Tiffany's Facebook page, I was completely smitten.

I could spot that signature Tiffany blue from a mile away! The perfect vehicle for some city sight-seeing...

It's pretty much a given that whatever Deborah loves, Pink Champagne loves.

This pink coat is a dream come true... and the bow at the neck in the front is pure perfection!

A true classic - this will be your wear with anything and everything coat.

Happy Friday, mon amies! Oui, I am going to gush again over the fabulous Fifi Flowers and her gorgeous paintings because she has painted one of my favorite photos from our Paris trip...

Do you recognize those sparkly Kate Spades and those toes??? Need a reminder?

When Fifi asked me if she could paint some of the photos from our trip for a new Pink Flowers in Paris collection, I was completely flattered and ecstatic. When I saw this one come to be, I was beyond giddy!

There is no question in my mind, I simply MUST have this painting.

Fifi Flowers & Pink Champagne

I have been in love with Fifi Flowers' work for quite some time. I was completely smitten as soon as I read her headline: "Painter of whimsy and fun with a Parisian flair!" Trés fabu, oui?

When it came time for a one year "paper" anniversary present for Husband, Fifi Flowers came to mind and voila! I commissioned her to paint one of my favorite wedding photos of us sailing into our reception... with a little pink and green flair!

When I received this initial sketch in my inbox, I was positively giddy. Husband loved his anniversary surprise, and the painting loves its' new home in our bedroom.

The amazingly talented Jackie of Jaclyn L Photography was looking for a model to test different lighting techniques, and I was the lucky bride selected! I am simply over the moon at the thought of slipping into my wedding dress one more time and taking some fabulously fun photos. (My mind is already reeling with jewelry, hair, and make-up ideas...oh the possibilities!!!) An absolute dream come true!

I'm back after a whirlwind wedding weekend, and back to Paris we go! Let's go shopping, shall we? I have a sneaky suspicion that some of us blog ladies could be lethal shopping companions, oui?

(On a side-note, Glitterista and I were discussing a blogger rendezvous at next year's Fashion's Night Out... who's in?!?!)

As the fashion capital of the world, Paris boasts a lengthy list of lust-worthy designers. This lady was in hea-ven. Let's shop!

Fashion's Night Out

I can feel the excitement in the air about Fashion's Night Out... I'm daydreaming of hopping on a train to NYC immediately and letting my inner fashionista loose! Who wants to join me??? Sadly, I will not be attending this glorious event this year, but this is what my night would look like:

Bendel's on Fifth Avenue is every girl's mecca... perfect to kick off my night of fashion and fun.

Milly to nibble on hors d'oeuvres, sip champagne, and meet Michelle (we will become instant BFFs, I just know it!)

Lilly Pulitzer of course! With a purchase of $250 or more, this FNO Lilly tote will be all mine.

A visit to Kate Spade's SOHO boutique will include belting out my favorite tunes in their store windows, tasting yummy treats, and sipping a cocktail or two.

I musn't miss the opportunity to be styled by a Vogue editor at the Tory Burch boutique!

I will end the evening ooooohing and aaaaahing at the masterpieces that incorporate Christian Louboutin’s enchanting shoes into a labyrinth of hair and having my own hair coiffed at the beauty parlor set up in the boutique.

French Cafés

Bonjour, madames and madamoiselles! I hope you had a lovely Labor Day weekend and soaked in as much sun, Lilly, and white clothing as possible! We spent our last summer weekend on Martha's Vineyard with friends, and it already feels like fall...

Now, are we ready for more Parisian daydreaming? Oui! One of my favorite things about the lovely Par-ee is that you can find a charming café on nearly every corner.

Husband and I spent hours sipping capuccinos, nibbling on pain au chocolat or crepes, and enjoying the lovely scenery sitting in those adorable café chairs.

Loving Ladurée

Bonjoir, madamoiselles! Husband and I are home from Paris, and my mind is still reeling with memories of the delicious dining, fabulous shopping, gorgeous architecture, incredible museums, and the pure romance of my favorite city. I have lots of photos to share, so I hope you enjoy dreaming of Par-ee as much as I do in many upcoming posts!

Let's begin with one of my favorite spots in the city, shall we? Husband and I brunched at Ladurée on Rue Royale enjoying pain au chocolat, capuccinos, and of course macaroons for dessert!

The window displays were pure perfection... so ladylike and Parisian, oui?

A little Ladurée history:

The history of Parisian tea salons is intimately tied to the history of the Ladurée family. It all began in 1862, when Louis Ernest Ladurée, a miller from France’s southwest, created a bakery at 16 rue Royale in Paris.

In 1871, the bakery transformed to a pastry shop. The decoration of the pastry shop was entrusted to Jules Cheret, a famous turn-of-the-century painter and poster artist who sought inspiration from the Sistine Chapel and the Garnier Opera.

It was Ernest Ladurée’s wife, Jeanne Souchard, who had the idea of mixing styles: the Parisian café and pastry shop gave birth to one of the first tea salons in town catering to the chic Parisian high society.

After swooning over the lovely window displays and snapping one last photo in front, it was time to indulge!

Isn't the china precious? And don't get me started on how delicious those capuccinos and pastries were... le sigh.

Moving on to dessert with raspberry, lemon, and chocolate macaroons... heavenly.

Oh how I wish this were not blurry! So pretty in pink and green!

Paris-Bound

Our suitcases are packed, and TODAY is the day!

Husband and I are taking an overnight flight to Paris, and we will wake up in the City of Lights!

Is 8 dresses excessive for a 4 day trip? I think non!

We will be celebrating our one year wedding anniversary on August 28th, and there is nowhere in the world I would rather be toasting with champagne with mon amour.

Just 6 more hours and we are off to the airport... I think I can make it!

I pray the excitement isn't too much and I'm able to sleep on the plane...

We will need rest to take in all the city has to offer!
